After coming to Mexico in June of 2010, I’ve rethought my plans regarding the arts and teaching.

I have realized how much I’ve missed making art and am taking the time now to do so. Weaving has always been a passion and now I’ve rediscovered how fulfilling it can be. Also how much I have yet to learn!

As far as teaching goes, I initially had three areas I had wanted to explore: K-12, Higher Education, or Museum Studies with an emphasis also on Education. If I do go into teaching, I would choose the Museum Studies and Education option.

There are great Museum Studies master’s programs in the US such as:
The University of South Carolina

George Washington University

Mexico City University also has a
Textile Design master’s degree.

as well as an Museum Studies master’s degree.

Plus it’s less expensive, more international and I could really improve my spanish.

Sincerely,
Mildred (Millie) Hanson
